Greetings and thank you for stopping by this blog. These pages are created by Greg Tice, a homeowner with wife Rose, who are not yet full time residents of Valle Escondido. I am creating and managing this site because we have found it difficult to get information about what is going on in the valley. We know that there are folks that are a lot further along the learning curve and hoping to give a forum to share some of that knowledge. The staff is busy, the newsletter link is not very specific, and I think that there are now enough people living in Valle Escondido to make this a great source of information.
I know that a bulletin board may be a better option for this format, but I’m a novice at this, and for now, this is what I’m capable of. All comments are moderated and attacks and whining are not going to be allowed. However, if you have some helpful information, a bit of news, an announcement, then please leave a comment or email me and I will post it. Categories and searching will be added when they become needed. Pictures are always welcome to help tell a story.
After a while, this can become a valuable resource for people moving in and out of the valley. From time to time I may put out a request for someone to write an article, restaurant review, fishing report, shopping report, etc. This site is not meant to replace bulletin boards like Boquete.org. It is meant to be an information and contact resource for the residents of Valle Escondido.
Remember, Valle Escondido is no longer a development, it is a community. It is evolving from being known for its buildings and beauty to being known by its occupants. We will ultimately define Valle Escondido long after the development stops. Staying in touch and informed will help us all become the best neighbors we can be.
Please enjoy the blog, post a comment and come back often. If you have a longer article you would like to write or pictures to post, email me at gt@advancedpublishing.net and I will transfer them to the blog. You must state your contact information but I will not use it if you do not want me to. Try to not be too judgemental as I promise that this site will get better. With your help we’ll all be better informed.
Greg

Hi Greg and Rose,
Thanks for setting up the “Valle Escondido Panama Life” site. It will be very useful to newcomers.
My wife, Kathy, and I are building a home (soon to be completed) on Lot #71 on Baru Vista. We’ll be spending time there over Christmas breaks and other teaching holidays until we retire ther permanently in 2008.
We’re anxiously looking forward to the move. We both love the outdoors and the unprecedented growth here in southwest Florida has taken its toll on the environment.

Comment by Greg Smith November 9, 2006 @ 8:22 amThank you for stopping by. My main goal with this site is to have a better conduit for those of us not able to be in VE full time. If you are like us, you search daily for news from Boquete and only the bigger stuff seems to hit the radar. I’m hoping that this becomes more of a friendly neighborhood forum. Keep us posted on some of your outdoor adventures.
